All About North Texas Giving Day 2022!
You may be asking yourself, what is this North Texas Giving Day event? Why is Carrollton Early Childhood PTA participating? What makes this day different from all other days? Well, I am here to answer your questions and guide you on how you can participate!
North Texas Giving Day is an online giving event powered by Communities Foundation of Texas, which manages more than 1,000 charitable funds for families, companies, foundations, and nonprofits and has awarded more than $2 billion in grants since its founding in 1953. This event brings thousands of nonprofits together to raise awareness and funds for their causes. When you give to a nonprofit like CECPTA during North Texas Giving Day, it’s a chance for our funds to go further and be eligible to win prizes. Last year, we raised $5,783.32 and this year we want to raise at least $7,000! Time is of the essence, as Thursday, September 21, 2022 is the last day you can give!
CECPTA is raising funds to support all the educational, social and community outreach activities we would like to have for our members, and most importantly, centered on building a community that connects us in the journey of parenting and promoting the well-being of everyone. As a nonprofit organization, every year we must raise funds to operate the PTA! Membership dues only cover a fraction of the costs associated every year! We are also partnering with Metrocrest Social Services and Carrollton-Farmers Branch Education Foundation in order to give some of our proceeds to these great organizations!
Wondering what we need the money for?
- Supplies and activities for playgroups, socials and educational events
- Adult and Child education speakers and activities for general meetings
- The CECPTA Community Early Childhood Grant
- Ticket discounts for educational outings such as the Zoo, Perot and the Arboretum
- Outreach and community service activities for our community.
