Gather your playmates and let’s go explore Historic Downtown Carrollton. Art is everywhere, look closely and you’ll find beautiful murals, sculptures, Instagram worthy backdrops and great mom & pop shops and restaurants. Downtown Carrollton is so charming in so many ways and they just celebrated their Centennial in 2013. It’s a perfect place to go on a playdate, take art class outside or even take a romantic stroll for date night.
Parking is free and there is plenty of green space to run around or set up your picnic blanket. Stop by Lemma Coffee Roasters and grab a cruffin and coffee. Queso and chips is always a good idea for a quick snack or quick bite at El Rincon. Order lunch at Rainbow Grill for old time fountain and tuna melt. Swing by David’s Instruments, who has been around for over 19 years. Peek through to see all the wonderful wind instruments. End your quest with a sweet reward at Blooms Candy & Soda Pop Shop.
What are you waiting for? Spend art class outside and download our fun guide. Go on a CECPTA Art Scavenger Hunt and use our key with “Art Vocabulary.” Let your kids take pictures of their art discoveries through their eyes.
