CECPTA Wellness Month

The education team has BIG plans this month for the PTA and the community. The desire this month is to promote the well being of not only children age 0-6, but also their parents, because we all know kids feed off of our energy. CECPTA will accomplish this by focusing on mental health, social, and emotional support, because studies have shown that crises within the community can impact not only a child’s mental health, but also their emotional and behavioral health. COVID-19 is a trauma that is impacting our children, putting them at risk for high levels of anxiety, which create behavioral issues, developmental deficiencies in regards to emotional intelligence, and poor sleep patterns, which has shown to lead to cognitive and physical growth stunting. Teaching parents and children in our community how to cope at a time like this holds significant value. Therefore, the education team has planned speakers and found DIYs to promote calmness, grounding, and coping!

We have created the Wellness Buddy.

You will be assigned a buddy for three months which you will check-in on once a week to see how they are doing and if they need anything, & vice-versa. You are not expected to, but if you can then one time a month try to deliver a care package to the buddies door, something that says you care and promotes self care!

You will provide your crossroads and your playgroup in the notes. We will try to match buddies that live close with one another and are not in the same playgroup! This means leaving your comfort zones a little bit, but you are going to be able to meet so many amazing parents during this experience.
